Later, at the inspiration of their father, Sri Aloke Kumar Datta, Asit Dutta and Ajoy Dutta established a shop named "Dalia" before three decades. Today the tree has spread into large branches and Dalia Group now has five shops at Uttarapan Market in Bidhannagar and Bidhan Sarani near Vidyasagar College.

Long before, quality was the prime factor for the sari buyers. Fashion then did not enter our home. Late Ajit Kumar Dutta chose quality as his sole aim. Later, with the passing of time, Alok Datta, his son with his teammates started designing handloom saris with cotton and silk thread. Aloke had the inspiration from his father about maintenance of quality. He also realized that in the competitive market, the price played key role. Least profit and better customer satisfaction were his vows.

With the change in socio-economic feature of our community, he realized the importance of fashion and started discovering unique designs on the cotton and silk saris. Later, his able son, Anjan realized the impact of globalization. The Sari and dress material, they started manufacturing bagged global fame to them. Hence fashion was another connotation added to the policy of the group.

Dalia's Saris ranging from Cotton based printed and embroidered saris and silk based Banarasis, Naksi border became popular in the Bengali community. Some of the Dalia's specialties are the Jamdanis and Tangail Saris with Nakshi and Zari border.

Aritra, another son of Aloke diversified the business to fashionable dress material and blouse piece which are gradually forming great demands along the Sari fashions. Two exclusive show rooms were set up for the fancy dress materials and blouse piece.

Men's wear did not go out of sight of Dalia management. Fashionable hand stitched and embroidered Kurta and Dhakka border Dhutis started being manufactured.

Today a team more than 100 weavers are engaged in Santipur to work for the designs and fashions of Dalia. All the products Dalia sell are manufactured by them and hence the group is devoted to manufacture and sell and not trade.
